Hey, I love Old House/Haunted Mansion movies. Can you tell me more about some of the ones you've listed, i.e. which ones are your favorites and what are worth watching? Thanks!

Also, archive.org doesn't have it but "The Old Dark House" (1931) dir by James Whale is fantastic.

Whoops, make that 1932, not 1931, for The Old Dark House.

I love them, too. The Old Dark House is still under copyright, so it can't be posted here.

My favorites are: House on Haunted Hill, The Black Raven, The Crooked Circle, The Ghost Walks, The Thirteenth Guest, Topper Returns, Bulldog Drummond's Secret Police, The Rogue's Tavern, and One Frightened Night..

A Shriek in the Night and Midnight Manhunt aren't old house mysteries, but are good mystery/comedies.

These are all worth watching and rewatching.

Awesome! Thanks for your response!

Here's another question-- what movie would you say has the most iconic "dark house" cliches... i.e. the Victorian mansion, candelabras, cobwebs, secret passages, weird butlers, etc... basically everything you'd see in a "Scooby Doo" episode?

Only one film here has all of those clich├ęs, and that's Topper Returns. It's also well produced and acted, and very funny. The bad guy doesn't turn out to be a real estate developer, though.
